Fredag 27. mai, kl. 19 vil Daina Binde fra Latvia i nærheten av den Russiske grensen snakker om «My journey towards self-sufficiency in Latvia near the Russian border».
Daina har gjort praksisen sin hos Stephen for nesten 10 år siden.
Nettforedraget er på engelsk.
Beskrivelse fra Daina:
“My name is Daina Binde, a horticulturalist and teacher, a graduate from Bulduri Horticulture College and the University of Latvia. I currently live in Aluksne region, Latvia, near the Russian border, hardiness zone 5a. I live there with my boyfriend, a 9 month old future permaculturist, 40 hens, 5 pea hens, 5 turkeys and 18 rabbits. The 4 ha farmstead is a reclaimed pine forest, so my main challenge for the last 6 years has been growing useful plants in dry, sandy soil.
The biggest international inspirations for me have been Geoff Lawton, Martin Crawford, Ffyona Campbell, Wolf Dieter Storl, Masanobu Fukoka and of course the legendary Stephen Barstow.
In the talk I can tell you about my journey towards self-sufficiency while growing useful medicinal, perennial and annual plants in different settings in Latvia, about plant companions; what plants I collect for salads, teas, herbal powders; and will introduce you to the Latvian Heritage seed saving programme”.
